We have another guest for you guys this evening! Nick’s old roommate, Nick B, wanted to do an episode, but refused to tell us what the shot was going to be. He sat us down and showed us Angel’s Egg, a profound movie that prompted Nick C to contact Criterion and demand that they put it in the Criterion Collection asap as possible. To chase this down, we visited Michel Gondry’s The Science of Sleep, which is free on YouTube! The boys are making their own horror movie, Nick B. does pottery, and we deconstruct faith to it’s core! Don’t miss it!

Hello again, cinephiles! On today’s episode, we are covering the inner workings of Hollywood and the different ways to make it in show business. For our shot, we have David Lynch’s Criterion classic, Mulholland Drive, and to chase this down, we have John Waters’ underrated masterpiece, Cecil B. Demented. In case you were wondering, almost every quote from our intro is from Cecil B. Demented so this one comes with high praise. We also discuss disastrous faith-based moves, Nick’s somewhat psychotic love for filmmaking, and Matt and Joey butt heads about The Way of Water! Check it out!

Greetings from the year 2014. We are anon messaging you from Tumblr and hoping that you are keeping calm and carrying on. On this week’s episode, we are covering Mamoru Hosoda’s Wolf Children, and to chase it down we watched Sam Ismael’s Comet! Both movies you might have seen while doom scrolling down your Tumblr dashboard in between posts about mustaches and pop punk lyrics. Joey Lestz guest stars and explains to us his favorite theories about Comet, Joey’s back to hating kids, Matt still hates musicals, and Nick wants to have sex with Olivia Coleman. It’s a wild one! Check it out now!

It’s a coming-of-age episode! We’re deep in the trenches of the Oscar nominations this week and we have a few things to say about our most recent watches. This week, the boys dive into the creepypasta masterpiece, We’re All Going to the World’s Fair and to chase it down, we watched Greta Gerwig’s love letter to Sacramento, Lady Bird. Matt gets us on a Star Wars tangent (again), Nick wishes he could experience a real-life creepypasta, and Joey loves his hometown more than the rest of us do. Check out the new episode today!

It’s officially Oscar season! We’re back this week with a new episode covering the American Prison System (not really) as well as the highs and lows of the Oscar nominations of 2023. For the shot, we watched Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners and we struggle greatly to pronounce his name. To chase this down, we begin our journey into the Ernest-verse with Ernest Goes to Jail, a movie that may have paired better with Villeneuve’s ‘Enemy’. Triangle of Sadness is dog shit, Jamie Lee Curtis does not deserve the nomination, and Joey watches American Psycho for the first time! Don’t miss it!

Hello, symbiotes! We had been discussing reviewing Venom for a few months, but we knew we would not do it justice alone so we had to call in an expert. Our friend Haley has stated that this is one of the best movies she has ever seen so we had to have her on to bring her argument to the table and dammit does she have a compelling argument. To chase down this vile fluid, we watched Upgrade, which is actually the exact same movie. Jane Campion is a nepo baby, Matt and Joey watched Cats for the first time, and we discuss our first bad movie theater experience! Don’t be a turd in the wind, check it out!

It’s an A24 double feature here on the pod! This week, we tackle every cinema bro's favorite masterpiece, The Lighthouse, and we chase it down with the wildly underrated C’mon C’mon. We tackle the wins and snubs of the Golden Globes, our fears about the Oscars, and Joey wants to have a kid after watching C’mon C’mon? We’re off to a wild start this year, but we’re glad to have you here!

TRIGGER WARNING: This episode will discuss mass shootings displayed in the movie “Vox Lux”. Okay now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, hello listeners! In this week’s episode, we wanted to discuss pop stars, and what better way to do this than with two wildly different movies that correlate more than we had expected? For the shot, we watched Neon’s Vox Lux, a film produced by Sia (do with that what you will), and to chase it down we watched Love Live: The School Idol Project Movie, probably the most wholesome movie we have ever watched for the podcast before. The boys saw M3gan, Sia is useless, and if you had to take the girls from Live Love to dinner and a movie, where would you take them? Don’t miss it!

Happy New Year everyone! We are kicking off the new year with a doozie. First off, it’s Nick’s birthday so be sure to wish him a happy birthday (or else). Secondly, we have quite an interesting combo for you this week. We begin with Titane, a movie we all believed was simply about a woman having sex with cars, and then to chase this down we endured Michael Bay’s 2007 blow-shit-up fest, Transformers! Nick discusses all of the Terrifier movies, the boys consider going to a con together, and why you need a PS5! It’s gonna be a good year we can feel it!

To commemorate this year in cinema, the boys are narrowing down their top 5 best and top 5 worst movies of 2022! We go over soul-crushing celebrity deaths, James Cameron’s thoughts on indigenous people, and our favorite creepypastas! 2023 is gonna be wild and we are so stoked to endure this journey with all of you!
