It’s an A24 double feature here on the pod! This week, we tackle every cinema bro's favorite masterpiece, The Lighthouse, and we chase it down with the wildly underrated C’mon C’mon. We tackle the wins and snubs of the Golden Globes, our fears about the Oscars, and Joey wants to have a kid after watching C’mon C’mon? We’re off to a wild start this year, but we’re glad to have you here!

TRIGGER WARNING: This episode will discuss mass shootings displayed in the movie “Vox Lux”. Okay now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, hello listeners! In this week’s episode, we wanted to discuss pop stars, and what better way to do this than with two wildly different movies that correlate more than we had expected? For the shot, we watched Neon’s Vox Lux, a film produced by Sia (do with that what you will), and to chase it down we watched Love Live: The School Idol Project Movie, probably the most wholesome movie we have ever watched for the podcast before. The boys saw M3gan, Sia is useless, and if you had to take the girls from Live Love to dinner and a movie, where would you take them? Don’t miss it!

Happy New Year everyone! We are kicking off the new year with a doozie. First off, it’s Nick’s birthday so be sure to wish him a happy birthday (or else). Secondly, we have quite an interesting combo for you this week. We begin with Titane, a movie we all believed was simply about a woman having sex with cars, and then to chase this down we endured Michael Bay’s 2007 blow-shit-up fest, Transformers! Nick discusses all of the Terrifier movies, the boys consider going to a con together, and why you need a PS5! It’s gonna be a good year we can feel it!

Happy New Year cinephiles! Can’t believe 2022 is already over and boy were there some god-tier and god-awful movies that came out this year! To commemorate this year in cinema, the boys are narrowing down their top 5 best and top 5 worst movies of 2022! We go over soul-crushing celebrity deaths, James Cameron’s thoughts on indigenous people, and our favorite creepypastas! 2023 is gonna be wild and we are so stoked to endure this journey with all of you!

Happy Holidays everybody! On our first ever Christmas special, we thought it would be fun to get Hannah and Molly back on the pod, talk about our favorite Christmas specials, and do a lil gift exchange! That’s right, we are cucking you this year for Christmas. We cover your classics such as The Charlie Brown Christmas Special and the Year Without a Santa Claus. Then we go into some early 2000’s nostalgia with the Bear in the Big Blue House and Spongebob Christmas episodes, and then Matt made us all endure Shrek the Halls. A sin we have not quite forgiven him for as of yet. Come join our festivities!

It’s a Christmas monster episode! On this week’s (delayed) episode, the boys dive into the 2015 hidden gem, Krampus, and then try to chase it down with Ron Howard’s 123 million dollar middle finger to Dr. Seuss’s immortal classic, How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Nick receives hate mail for his hatred of this classic, Matt thinks someone is named Stevie in the movie Krampus, and Joey had faith in the Mario movie being made by Illumination? It was a wild ride this week for sure and we’re super sorry it’s coming to you a day late!

Jingle bells, Hallmark smells, David Steiman only ever directed one movie? Hello again avid listeners! To kick off our month of holiday cheer, we are starting with the underrated masterpiece, Santa Slay, and to chase it down, we watched Nick’s mom’s Hallmark classic, The Christmas Cottage! The boys discuss their favorite Christmas songs and recast The Christmas Cottage if Paul Thomas Anderson was directing it! Also cannibalism? Don’t miss it!

Happy cyber week, avid listeners! We hope you had a great and unproblematic Thanksgiving with your conservative relatives! Before we jump into our Christmas month, we watched two oddly profound movies for this week’s episode. To kick things off, we watched Terrence Malick’s neverending cycle, The Tree of Life. To chase down this Criterion piece, the boys endured The Lorax with surprisingly mixed reviews. We also remind Joey that Hoodwinked exists! Tune in now!

Gobble Gobble motherfucker and Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are so very thankful to have listeners like you who tolerate our random tangents and wildly hot takes. On our first ever Thanksgiving episode, we endure the $3500 catastrophe, Thankskilling, and we chase this down with a John Hughes classic, Planes Trains and Automobiles! We also discovered that Matt and Joey have never listened to the podcast nor do they know who JonBenét Ramsey is! Not sure how we got there, but what else do you expect from us at this point? Happy Thanksgiving friends!

Are you afraid of dying? You should be! Welcome back to the Shot and the Chaser! This week, the boys watched Gaspar Noe’s newest movie, Vortex, a movie that we watched in total silence. Then to chase it down, we watched the movie that put all Christian couples in a chokehold that faithful summer in 2004, The Notebook. Nicolas Sparks is a prick, Gaspar is king, and the boys discuss how Regal Cinema 12 is the worst establishment to see a movie!
